![]() ![]() They toured for all of '02 and released their third EP Lifelike in '03. The EP proved to be a success among Australian metalheads and for some reason gained them airplay in Switzerland and Spain (with a lot of favours involved). The band recruited Jon Stockman on bass and Ray Hawking on drums after the previous rhythm section suffered brain damage from too much weed (again, no one knows who the hell they were) and released their next EP Persona in 2001. They would later regret this, as Ian Kenny later called the EP "shit" and "I would rather forget about it", while Drew pretended it didn't even exist. After surprisingly sounding pretty good, the band released their first self titled EP in 1999. After freaking out, they bought some instruments and jammed, and thought up five songs. Surprisingly enough, Drew Goddard (who pretty much is Karnivool) did not found the band and joined in 1998, just when the guys realised that they had signed themselves up for a show at the Amplifier Bar in Perth while they were high. Obviously, the name Karnivool (a goddamn hilarious way of spelling carnival) was thought up during the period when they were baked. While completely high, they decided they should form a band. The band was formed by Ian Kenny because he wanted to find a few friends to complete his bong circle. Since no one was around then to care, let's just say 1997. No one gives a shit knows when they were formed, some sources say as far back as 1788. ![]()
